How do electronic cigarettes work?

E-cigarettes work by heating a liquid to convert it to vapour, or mist, which you inhale. The liquid can contain nicotine or a variety of nicotine-free flavoured e-liquids.

An e-cigarette has three main parts:
a rechargeable battery
an atomizing chamber
a tank containing the e-liquid
Inhaling on an e-cigarette is just like a regular cigarette. Simply put the e-cigarette up to the lips, press the power button -  this activates a heater to convert the e-liquid to a steam vapour. Inhaling this vapour through the mouthpiece delivers it into your throat and lungs, just like a normal cigarette. The same sensations as smoking but most importantly with a vapour instead of smoke.

Two types of e-cigarettes
At Pure Vapor we have two types of e-cigarettes. The ready to use style (Switch) uses prefilled disposable tanks containing e-liquid, simply replace the tanks when they run out. The hybrid variants – Solo, Fusion, Fusion 2, Vaptio P1 or the Ego Vape Kit can be refilled manually with e-liquid. So, what are you actually inhaling with an e-cigarette?
The vapour inhaled when smoking an electronic cigarette contains propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. These are both commonly used in foods and are safe. Many e-cigarettes also contain nicotine (in varying concentrations). This nicotine is addictive, just like the nicotine in conventional cigarettes – but without the 4000+ harmful chemicals that go into your lungs. UK Government  research has found E-cigarettes are around 95% less harmful than tobacco smoking.
